Gandhi was gay?

Another publication,
another ban,
another sales boost.
another law: please can we have a law that says Gandhi was not gay? or so they cry in India upon the publication of Great Soul: Mahatma Gandhi and His Struggle With India. (Joseph Lelyveld)

See India state bans book hinting Gandhi had gay loverwhere you will read:
It has become a fashion to tarnish the image of great Indian leaders for self publicity and sale of books,” said Sanjay Dutt, spokesman for the ruling Congress Party in Maharashtra. “The government should invoke a law to severely punish anyone who tarnishes the image of the father of the nation.

I, the author of this blog, would like to call for a law that banned people from equating outing someone with tarnishing their image.

As you will also read, the relationship with Kallenbach was platonic.
Oh, I get it. No sex = no gay. Feelings count for nothing.

I'm sure there are millions of teenage virgins around the world today and throughout the history and pre-history of mankind whose hitherto unfulfilled sexual desires doesn't mean that they are not gay. And don't get me started on the Papacy and all that flounders in her.

Is it time to add Gandhi to that great T-shirt, What a difference a gay makes?

Boy George sentenced to 15 months

I have just come across this story for the first time this evening on the BBC website. I therefore know nothing about the background, let alone the foreground, and will abstain from any pontificating at this juncture.

However, I would like to make the point that a great number of people over the years are guilty of such things as the premeditated callous and humiliating handcuffing and detention of Mr Carlsen shocked, degraded and traumatised him. of which Judge Radford spoke.

In fact, society at large, bolstered by such august institutions as the all-loving, all-embracing and all-forgivng church, under the stewardship of the our beloved pontifs (see below), is guilty of systematically doing such things to us for millennia, especially if we take Boy George's itemised misdemeanours as metaphors for their innocuous and self-righteous gay-bashing. Ah the damage done to us. We might spare a thought for Der Fuhrer as well. By the way, being gay is not something I want to be forgiven for.

By the way, Boy George's victim was a Norwegian male escort, a.k.a. hustler, slut, prostitute etc. I can't help feeling that this all-loving and all-embracing professional would have preferred to settle out of court than see Boy George in prison. I mean like, who's gonna profit from imprisonment?

Jews and Christians, Fags and Forests - down the plughole, the lot of ya

Can’t believe I am harping on about the Pope again, but his Christmas message did call for peace in the Holy Land after the truce ended last month. Nobody’s listening sweetie – those damned Israelis killed 271 Palestinians yesterday – two days after your Christmas invocation.

In fact, Pope Benedict is offering a Christmas Day solution to the ills of financial meltdown, war and poverty: global solidarity rather than self interest. And that is consistent with another of his messages is it? … save the world from fags. Yeah .. he said that saving humanity from homosexual or transsexual behaviour was just as important as saving the world’s rainforests from destruction. That was only one week before. Global solidarity? He’s good.

What he seems to have overlooked is the call to take over from where his Fuhrer left off – if he put us all in the gas chambers he could reduce the demand on the world’s resources by anything up to 10% in one foul swoop …thereby saving humanity from homosexual …. rainforests …. blah blah blah.

Went to Hacko last night at about 1.00 after watching four episodes of Jonathon Harvey’s Beautiful People which Simon sent me. It’s good. He’s good. Well there wasn’t really anyone at Hacko I wanted to talk to and I was quite happy just to sit there and drink about the world. I did move to the bar cos it got cold leaning against the external wall. Some chap started talking to me or trying to – terribly drunk, I think. The first thing he told me was that he was Jewish (how many Palestinians killed yesterday?). Oh, and straight. And happily married. And kept massaging my fingers and even raised them to his lips to kiss them a couple of times. I think. And we left together in Pan Neumann’s taxi. At my place I said you’re welcome, but I am not forcing you and eventually he instructed Mr Taxi to drive on. That was good given how drunk we both were, but in a soberer, monotheistic and monosexual world, I’d’ve had him like a shot. I did dream about him this morning - staying in a hotel in a large group and we almost got to share a room, but I mixed up his name. Karel, no Adam - how Genesis. He was absolutely lovely, I think.
